Itinerary 6 hour tour:
The Hague: See the modern Town Hall, walk through the mediaeval Government center. Visit the Mauritshuis: a small museum with a top collection of paintings of Dutch Golden Age: “Anatomic lesson” by Rembrandt, “View on Delft”, “Girl with Pearl Earring” by Vermeer, “The Gold Finch” by Fabricius. Free choice to discover the museum on your own, or be accompanied by the guide. Time for having a light lunch in a nice Dutch restaurant (included). Continued by a walking tour passing Royal Palace, the mediaeval Prison Gate, a nice covered 19th century shopping mall.

Leave The Hague and drive 20 min. to Delft: a beautiful, well preserved 17th Century town, famous for Delft Blue Pottery and Delft is the town of the famous painter Johannes Vermeer! Start the city walking tour, see the original hand painting of Delft blue pottery, the New Church with its famous baroque tomb of the Dutch Royal Family, the market Square with 17th Century town hall, have a walk in the small streets with scenic canals and bridges

It was so nice to have all our stops almost to ourselves in several quaint villages and at a working windmill “museum”. Three windmills at one location and we went though, and climbed to the top, of one of them. Gerk gave a wonderful history lesson on the Netherlands throughout the day.
